Kikuko Nagayoshi is an associate professor at the Institute of Social Science, the University of Tokyo, where she has been a faculty member since 2020. She completed her Ph. D at Osaka University, where she completed her undergraduate studies and master’s degree. Her research interests lie in the area of sociology. She has studied the integration of immigrants and ethnic relations in Japan. She focuses on how institutions, e.g., immigration, welfare, and labor market policies, frame immigrants’ living conditions and public opinion
