Japan Now seeks to provide a forum for promoting undergraduate learning and study of contemporary Japan, with a goal of making the study of the topic more accessible, friendly, and enjoyable for undergraduates, regardless of their prior knowledge or future career plans. By balancing beginner-friendly topics with an academic perspective, the club invites scholars across various disciplines through the Global Japan Lab network to discuss their research, careers, and experiences with Japan. Students also share and discuss readings and media related to current events, controversies, and phenomena in Japan, maintaining a "reading list" of informative yet entertaining content. Additionally, the club provides undergraduates with opportunities to workshop their research or brainstorm ideas with peers.
